Introducing the Hurst Elite Series Program

The Hurst Performance legacy began in 1958 with George Hurst building engine mount conversion kits to transplant bigger engines in cars. This eventually led to the introduction of numerous quality performance products, most notably the Hurst shifter. The birth of the Competition Plus shifter quickly solidified the Hurst brand as an ICON in the automotive industry and at race tracks all around the country

George had the gift of foresight, and knew what the buying public wanted…which is performance and excitement. In January 1968, Hurst Performance was commissioned by Oldsmobile motors to help revive poor sales of their mid-size car known as the Olds Cutlass 442. The Hurst Olds was born, and Hurst built over 500 H/O (Hurst Olds) 442 cars the first year. Hurst continued building Hurst cars into the mid 1980’s for Oldsmobile, AMC, Chrysler and Pontiac. Hurst also built numerous proposal cars for Buick, International, Jeep and other auto manufactures.

After a 20 year hiatus, in 2009, the Hurst performance car was reborn with the Hurst Performance editions of the Dodge Challenger, soon followed by the Camaro and Mustang. All of the Hurst cars from the past are highly desired collector cars and very valuable, making it difficult for the average auto enthusiast to own one.

So today, with George’s original vision and with the drive and passion from real performance enthusiasts now at the helm, Hurst has developed and refined the Hurst ‘Elite Series’ line of performance products for today’s modern muscle cars, the Chevy Camaro, the Dodge Challenger/Charger and the Ford Mustang. All at an affordable package price that auto enthusiasts can afford and have been waiting for. Build your own Hurst car today and join the legacy.
