Holley EFI Selected To Power New SRX Racing Series

When it comes to racing, there's a new game in town! Holley is excited to announce that it will partner up with the SRX (Superstar Racing Experience) series for the inaugural 2021 season as the official fuel system supplier. Mark your calendars because the first race kicks off June 12th!

About the Series

SRX puts high-profile, hot-shoe drivers in spec, late-model race cars, for a fan-focused racing experience. The series’ four founders, Ray Evernham, Tony Stewart, George Pyne, and Sandy Montag have come together to develop a racing venue that is unique, exciting, and puts an emphasis on spectator enjoyment. For those familiar with the International Race of Champions (IROC) series, SFX follows a similar format that promises nail-biting, wheel-to-wheel action at tracks all over the country.

"This is basically the resurgence of [IROC] in 2.0 form," says Donato Bonacquisto of SRX.

The format for SRX races will consist of three individual races (two heat races and one, 100-lap sprint race) where drivers will earn points in format for fans to follow along with–no complicated points systems here! There will be 10 drivers confirmed for every race with two "ringers" making an appearance at each event. These "ringers" will consist of local legends as well as fan favorites, who will shake up the competition and add an extra layer of excitement to each event.

The Cars

With a body designed by Ray Evernham, the SRX cars look sharp and move even quicker. A full Holley fuel system from ECU, to fuel pump, to throttle body, powers each ride.

While all drivers will wheel identical machines, they are anything but boring. Each SRX car wears a body designed by Ray Evernham, and is powered by an Ilmore 396ci, engine that churns out a roaring 700 horsepower and 530 lb-ft of torque. The fuel delivery system is all Holley, utilizing a Dominator pump, billet fuel filter, billet fuel pressure regulator, and a full complement of Holley fuel injection components.

Four crew chiefs will be in the pits at each race, and to keep the field fair, each will be assigned 3 drivers at random.

"Crew chiefs will randomly draw drivers before each race," said Bonacquisto. "From race to race there is no guarantee that divers will have the same crew chief, which is another element of surprise that keeps drivers on their toes."

Unlike other racing formats where cars routinely undergo significant tweaks from track to track and during qualifying sessions, changes to SRX cars will be minimal. Variables such as tire pressure and subtle suspension tweaks will be the only tuning on the table. More invasive adjustments such as gear ratio changes, etc. won't be allowed.

As the fuel system supplier, all SRX cars are equipped with Holley Dominator fuel pumps, billet fuel filters, Holley HydraMat, and Holley fuel pressure regulators.

SRX brings together some of the most talented drivers from all walks of motorsports. Below are some of the names you can expect to see in competition.
